Obituary of Thomas Ray Overton
Thomas Ray Overton passed away on April 28, 2022. He was born in Eldorado, Illinois on December 12, 1938. He was the second of six children. His family moved to Fair Oaks, California in 1952 where Tom grew up and lived most of his life.
Tom attended San Juan High School where he played football for a championship team his senior year. After high school, he attended American River College. Tom later went to work for Aerojet Corp. He was a loyal and dedicated employee and became skilled at many trades before he retired as a residential plumber.
Tom had many happy memories of being on the water with his boat and water skiing. Most important to him were his family and his friends of which he had many. It was important for Tom to stay touch with the people he was close to. He loved to laugh and have a good time, and is remembered for his sense of humor, dapper style and generosity.
Tom was a loving and devoted husband to Lorraine. He is survived by Lorraine, stepsons Chris Smith and Greg Smith, grandsons Eason Smith, Drake Smith and Patrick Smith, sisters Gloria Fleeman and Connie Noble, and nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Harold and Mary Pauline, sisters Kay, Lynda and brother Gary.
Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
