Obituary of Roger Dale Jackson

Roger Dale Jackson was born at home on June 29, 1949 in Fort Coffee, Oklahoma. Officially per his birth certificate he was born in Spiro, Oklahoma since that was the closest city and hospital near them at the time. Roger was the youngest son of Coy Richard Jackson and Stella May Jackson, and he passed away in Roseville, California on April 19, 2022. Roger was a simple, quiet, caring, strong, and dry humored youth and man. Roger grew up in a big family with lots of loving brothers and sisters and lived nearly his whole life in or around Jackson, California. He loved his wife and three boys, family, friends, the outdoors, reading old westerns, playing keno when he had the chance and so much more. Roger was the best father any child could hope for. He showed his love and quiet pride in his sons with his simple grin whenever they were together. Roger was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Some of his happiest moments in life were when he married his wife Mary “Bucky” in March 1978, seeing his three children Jesse, Erik & Neil born, watching his youngest son Neil be married, and getting to meet his first granddaughter Elsie. No words can convey how much he meant to so many, but it's obvious that his life touched and changed more people than he knew. Roger was an auto mechanic by trade, but he did so much more. He loved building things, fixing motors and machines, and working with his hands. He was a great listener, giving, caring and a wonderful friend. Whenever you came by his house, he would offer you food or a drink, try to help solve your problems, and work on your car if you ever needed it. He never asked for anything in return, hardly ever complained and if you asked how he was he'd always just say, "I'm fine", with a smile on his face. Even if he wasn't "fine", you'd never know it. He was the type of man that hated being a burden and didn't want to make anyone feel bad in any way. Roger is survived by his three sons Jesse Jackson and his partner Marcie Murtha, Erik Jackson, and Neil and Maegan Jackson; his granddaughter Elsie; his siblings Raymond Jackson, Ruby Treece, and Fern Jackson; and many other beloved family and friends. Roger was the most wonderful man you could have ever hoped to know. Again, no words can say how much he meant to each of us. When you find yourself remembering Roger, please think of the unique happy and comforting memories that he left with us all. Roger lived his life with a quiet and wise strength, love, compassion, and always kept his head up and eyes looking forward. Thank you, all family and friends, for your past and continued support and compassion during this time. In loving memory of Roger Dale Jackson.
