Obituary of Kathryn Ann Whitworth

Kathryn ‘Kay’ Ann Whitworth was called to Heaven on March 18, 2022 in Salinas, California at the age of 87. The second of three children, Kay was born December 1, 1934 in Columbus, Nebraska to Edward and Lucille Savage. Although recently of Roseville, California she grew up in Spreckels, California and graduated from Salinas High School in 1951. Later on, while raising her children Kay went on to obtain her Physician Assistant Certification from Stanford University. And it was while working at Natividad Medical Center where she met her beloved husband and constant companion for the next 30 years, Rex Whitworth, MD. Together, they traveled and practiced medicine in clinics in Gallup, New Mexico, Saipan and the Monterey Health Department, until they both retired in 1998 and moved to Roseville, California in 2005. Kay was a kind, thoughtful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, wife and friend and she cherished time spent with her family and close friends and will be missed tremendously. Kay is survived by her daughter Linda Burrola (Bill) of Roseville, California; granddaughters, Celeste Villalobos (Mario) of Roseville, California; and Maya Gee (Todd), of Reno, Nevada; and great-grandson Lucas Villalobos. She also leaves behind a close and loving step-family, Valerie Whitworth of Winters, California; Pamela Graff (Stan) of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Victoria Whitworth of Davis, California; and Christopher Whitworth (Janet) of McKinleyville, California; and grandchildren, Steven, Cecilia and William Whitworth and great-granddaughter Grace Whitworth. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, brother Clark Savage, loving husband Rex Whitworth, MD, and her sons, Mark, Ronnie and Steven Quintero.
