Obituary of Suzan Lynn Hanson

Suzan Lynn Hanson, at age 63, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at her home in Roseville, CA, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Suzan was born in Pasadena, Texas, to Jo Ann Vivian (Kay) and John Robert Moore. At an early age, John Moore passed, and Jo Ann married Carroll Lee Parker, who raised Suzan as his own. Suzan adored her stepdad and always considered him as her only father. Suzan married early in life and was rewarded with two beautiful children, Richard Ian and Cheré Renee Cue. After a brief marriage and subsequent divorce, she met her current husband, Cary Hanson (me), in Webster, Texas, during the summer of 1980. They soon relocated to California, where they were married in 1987. In 1989, Robert Graham Hanson III was born, rounding out the immediate family of five. Grandchildren soon followed. Cheré added Xandrea Torres, Xavier Torres, Javier Torres and Thomas Joseph Melger. Richard and his wife Melissa brought Lily Suzan Cue into this world, the spitting image of her grandmother, Suzan. Xavier Michael Torres was born to Xavier as Suzan’s first great-grandson. Suzan was also survived by her beloved sister, Dawn Parker of Conroe, Texas. Suzan was preceded in death by both parents and her sister Charlotte Moore of Houston, Texas. Words of condolences from her friends, coworkers and loved ones all mention Suzan as one of the smartest, funniest, nicest, friendliest, and most helpful individuals they have ever known. Always smiling and willing to help with any special needs or projects, Suzan’s creativity and beautiful artwork were admired by all who knew her. I have never met a more loving and selfless person in my life. She was extremely talented and remarkably kind. Her family was her greatest love, by far. She will be dearly missed. In lieu of any flowers, your fond remembrances are all that are requested, but any donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of Suzan’s life will be held at a later time – post covid – time. I will notify all of you. Hope you can join us at that time.
