After retiring he volunteered at Rocklin Police Department as a community service officer and was Grand jury Forman. He also played softball for Lincoln Hills. His true calling was working as assistant coach for Del Oro High School’s girls’ varsity basketball team for over 10 years and continued as a faithful fan. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Del Oro High School, John, and Shelley Wilhelm Memorial Scholarship. Checks made payable to Del Oro High School with John and Shelley’s Scholarship in the memo line. The scholarship is awarded once a year to a senior girl based on her achievements and an essay on Shelley’s quote, “Think freely, pursue the truth and follow your heart”. Thank you for your kindness.
