Patrick Bell

Obituary of Patrick William Bell

Patrick William Bell, passed away peacefully in his home in Rocklin, CA, on March 7, 2023, at the age of 80. Pat was born on March 18, 1942, to John and Florence Bell in Minneapolis, MN. The Bell family moved West and Pat grew up in Brisbane, CA, graduating from Jefferson HS. He joined the US Air Force, later returning home and working for Allied Index in San Francisco. Pat retired early from the printing business, allowing him to spend more time enjoying life and his favorite things.

Pat will be dearly missed by his family and many friends, especially by his best friend and wife, Barbara Grant, with whom he has shared his life for 47 years. Pat was thoughtful, a fun guy with a sharp wit, an animal-lover and a gambler. He was an avid athlete, sports fan and enjoyed spirited debates with colorful language. He most enjoyed years of golf with friends from Grand Masters, SSF Duffers, and group of buddies at Whitney Oaks Country Club. He enjoyed many hunting trips and was the only hunter camping with freshly pressed shirts on hangers. His particularness and dry sense of humor were as endearing as his loyalty and compassion. He always found time to be a good friend and offer an ear and a Budweiser.

Pat is predeceased by his parents and his siblings John, Nancy (Bernie) and Rocky.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Grant; children Jackie McDonald, Chrissy Sanguinetti (Steve), Bryan Bell, Nicole DePaul (Vince); grandchildren Kelly, Mickey, Tracy and Maggie McDonald, Nicholas Bell and Mackenzie DePaul; brother Pete Bell (Judy) and many nephews and nieces.

We say farewell to our dear Pat, with heavy hearts and gratitude knowing that he lived a full life and leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love. Pat enjoyed reading obituaries and we hope he would have found this one observable.

Pat will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, with services held privately.
