For Sally's family, I send you heartfelt condolences on the loss of your dear wife, mother, and grandmother. Sally sat next to me in English class in high school...so many years ago...., and I have thought of her many times over the years. For more than half a century I have remembered her as a young girl who would speak her mind and express herself with clarity. She was feisty and funny, and her exceptional wit and perception always set her apart from the crowd. At class reunions I learned that she had the significant, full career she deserved, and that her life was a true fulfillment of our early years of drama club and poetry writing. I have thought of her fondly, and remember being a bit intimidated by her quick wit and independence. Sally was one of a kind as a teenager, and now I can see she lived a life true to her talents. I am proud of this dear sensitive woman who accomplished so much for our generation. With sadness I regret that I did not connect with her over the years, but that will be my loss. I know she leaves behind a hole which is only filled with the love in your hearts.
