Obituary of Alfred Richard Tomlinson

Alfred Richard Tomlinson affectionately known as Rick passed away with his loving wife, Tina at his bedside at the Mather Veteran Hospital on January 7th, 2020. He was born on March 31st, 1947 in Doylestown, PA to Alfred Sr. & Martha Tomlinson whom have both preceded him in death. Rick enjoyed camping and fishing. He was an indefinite joker. He enjoyed taking his wife on long drives and playing with his dog. He was a loyal husband who stayed by his wife's side while she cared for her ailing parents. Rick served honorably in the Navy Seebee's. He served two tours in Vietnam then became a contractor. Rick is survived by his wife Tina Tomlinson, his two children Scot (Annie) Tomlinson of Ridgecrest, CA and Shel (Norman) Shafer of Mesa, AZ , his three step-children Dawn (Carlos) Estevez of Newark, CA, Ryan (Katie) Love of Long Island, NY and Christina (Patrick) Mitchell of Roseville, CA. Rick has 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who called him "Popi", his brother Ronald (Jackie) Tomlinson of Florida and his sister Sue (Ray) Ellis of Doylestown, PA. Celebration of Life and inurnment for Rick will be held on February 28th, 2020 at 12:30pm at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at: 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA 95620. For those who wish to follow the procession lead by the Patriot Guard Mission who will be honorably escorting Rick on his last ride and final destination to the cemetery, please come to 31 Hancock Drive Roseville, CA at 11:00am.
