Obituary of Lloyd M. Ellis

Lloyd Marmion Ellis passed away while being cared for at Oakmont of Westpark in Roseville, California, on July 29, 2022, at the age of 88, surrounded by his wife, Harlean, and his children. Lloyd was born April 23, 1934, to Edward Parker Ellis and Helen Marguerite (Marmion) Ellis in Long Beach, California. Lloyd was a long-time resident of Visalia, California where he ran a successful Insurance business that ultimately merged with Buckman Mitchell of Visalia. Lloyd and Harlean retired and moved to Sun City Lincoln Hills, located in Lincoln, California, and have lived there for over twenty years. Lloyd grew up in the Visalia area. Following graduation from Visalia High School Lloyd continued his education at the University of San Francisco where he received his bachelor’s degree. After graduation, Lloyd moved back to Visalia and started working for his father’s Insurance agency. Lloyd continued working for his father until he took over the business and turned it into The Lloyd M. Ellis Insurance Agency. After many years of success, Lloyd merged his insurance agency with the Buckman Mitchell Insurance Agency where he continued to work until his retirement. One of Lloyd’s passions in his younger years was being a member of the Vapor Trailers. Lloyd was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Visalia (now GateWay) for many years, serving on the Board of Deacons for a time. Lloyd married the love of his life, Harlean on August 19,1972. Together Lloyd and Harlean enjoyed four children, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing Golf and watching Golf on TV. Lloyd also enjoyed working on miscellaneous home projects. One of Lloyd’s favorite daily tasks was putting out the American flag every morning and putting it away every night. Lloyd is survived by wife Harlean Kay Ellis, his brother, John C. Ellis (Barbara, Visalia, CA)”daughter, Kimberly Rae Ellis (Fresno, CA), daughter, Kelly Anne Forney (John, Moscow, ID), daughter, Deborah Lynn Murphy (Visalia, CA), and son Kevin Michael Triplett (Lincoln, CA), Grandchildren, Dustin Forney (Sara, Antelope, CA), Jenna Sarr (Matt, Moscow, ID), Davis Forney (Nashville, TN), Michael Murphy (Jonelle, Visalia, CA), Macaela Laura Harlean Adams (Visalia, CA), Bryce Triplett (Dylan and Cyrus, Sunnyvale, CA), and Blake Triplett (Samantha, Galt, CA) and Great Grandchildren, Carter & Caden Forney, Paige, Jude, Quinn & Jack Sarr, Jasey Rae Forney, Rowan Harlean and Julianne Triplett, Colton and Kade Murphy, Laura Adams and Elaine Sierra.
