Obituary of David William Konigsmark

David William Konigsmark, a longtime resident of Lincoln, California passed away after a long battle with cancer at his home surrounded by family on May 15, 2023. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and a fantastic storyteller. David was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 2, 1941, and was raised in Marion, Iowa where he lived until 1964 when he headed west to Northern California. 

David worked at McClellan Air Force base as a civilian in the mail and distribution, computer and internet technologies and retired as a civilian supervisor after an almost 30-year career at the base. In the 1960’s & 70’s, David proudly raced his number 34 stockcar in Placerville, California and he was an avid racing fan, never missing a NASCAR race. He loved planes, trains, and automobiles and was always up for a weekend trip with his buddies to the airshows. Even at home, he built intricate models of trains and aircraft.

David was preceded in death by his son, William (Bill), and his parents, Wylma and William Konigsmark. David leaves behind his wife of almost 45 years Mary, his children Kimberly Konigsmark, Heidi Dozier, and Dustin Allen and their spouses Tim Dozier and Gina Allen, grandchildren, including Christopher & Timothy Konigsmark, Caitlin & Emma Dozier, McKenzie, Natasha & Austin Allen, and great-grandchildren Aria & Liam Hinckley.
