Obituary of Erlinda Espinosa

Erlinda Espinosa, also known by many as Lin, passed away peacefully at her home with her family in Roseville, CA at the age of 81 on August 12th, 2023. A native of Salinas, Lin moved with her husband, George, to Roseville, CA in July 2009.

Family was especially important to Lin. She spent many years at her children and grandchildren’s games and extra-curricular events. She traveled and attended many concerts. Lin was known for her smile, creativity, kind heart, friendliness, compassion, and considerate nature. People would often say she was the sweetest person they had ever met. She would also make everyone feel at home. Lin will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Lin graduated Salinas High School in 1960 and dental nursing school in San Francisco in 1962. She married her high school sweetheart the same year. She worked as a dental nurse until she had her girls, Cherie and Michelle. She had a successful business baking cakes for many families in Salinas, and later started LinGeo, a ski accessories company. She expanded her business and designed her patented QuickTripper travel bag which was featured on QVC. While in Roseville, she joined Roseville Area Newcomers & Neighbors (RANN). She chaired a monthly breakfast and was a community service board member.

She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Cecelia Sanchez, brother Danny, and in-laws Adolph and Elvira “Vera” Espinosa. Lin is survived by her husband, of 61 years George Espinosa, daughter Cherie (Ceasar) Perez Rocamora, Michelle (Chris) Keim, brother Albert (Virginia) Sanchez, and sister-in-law Judy (Romald) Nunes. Her nine grandchildren are Regina (Gerry), Ryan (Ramina), Trisha, Steven (Emily), Dominque, Courtney, Chase, Carsen, and Caitlin. Her five great-grandchildren Alyssa, Jayden, Jeremiah, Analisa, and Emiliano.

A funeral service and reception will be held on Friday, September 22nd at 1pm at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church, 320 E Laurel Drive, Salinas, CA 93906.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 24th at Timber Creek Ballroom at Sun City Roseville, 7050 Del Webb Blvd. Roseville, CA 95747
